Jennifer Engbrecht has had an interest in the environment, and infusing nature and science into music classes for many years. Recently, after teaching music outside for an entire school year, her philosophy of teaching music was transformed to include learning outside as an inspiration for musical learning for her students, as well as music and the arts as inspiration for how to communicate to the hearts of others. Music and the arts have a way of sharing from deep within; a wonderful way to create rich engagement to helping our earth. Recently, Jennifer has connected with other education colleagues in Winnipeg and Manitoba to start "Educators for a Sustainable Future Manitoba", which will have monthly meetings as well as a day of professional development each fall to inspire other Manitoban teachers to bring nature and sustainability to their schools. Jennifer is an Orff trained music educator with experience in dance, drama and art.
